  • 12 Easy Ways to Save Gas and the Environment
    Do you purchase the correct fuel for your vehicle? According to “Pump Money into Your Wallet,” a brochure produced by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), if your vehicle does not require premium or mid-grade fuel, you should purchase less expensive regular unleaded gasoline realizing a savings of approximately $0.19 per gallon. The brochure points out that producing higher-octane gasoline uses more crude oil than the lower octane gasoline, and may often involve the use of toxic substances, which means your wallet and the environment suffers.   (04/24/06)

    Motorcycle operators are now required to successfully complete a motorcycle knowledge test before they receive a Class M motorcycle learner's permit. Previously, a completed application and payment of related fees was all that was required to obtain a motorcycle learner's permit.   (01/18/06)

    [09/21/05] SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION TO FIGHT PRICE GOUGING
    Businesses that exploit disasters would face up to $10,000 in penalties.

    HARRISBURG, PA. – Legislation that would prohibit price gouging during and immediately after a state of disaster emergency was approved by the Senate today, according to state Sen. Joe Conti (R-Bucks, Montgomery). Senate Bill 450 prohibits “unconscionably excessive” pricing during a declared state of disaster emergency and 30 days after.
