State Police Tool Will Stop Stolen Vehicles The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is rolling out a new crime fighting device. A camera mounted to the roof of a PSP cruiser can now read and detect stolen or wanted license plate numbers.

Explore Pennsylvania’s Archaeological Heritage For the ninth year, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) is recognizing October as Archaeology Month with a series of statewide events held in local communities to create public awareness and participation in the protection of Pennsylvania’s historic and prehistoric archaeological heritage. The PHMC owns 3.5 million archaeological artifacts acquired through gifts and acquisitions from archaeological digs. The current collection documents more than 14,000 years of human habitation in Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG -- The State Senate today passed a comprehensive property tax reform plan that would allow voters to decide in the 2006 primary election whether to reduce school property taxes by raising local earned income taxes. "This is a tremendous first step toward meaningful property tax reform," State Senator Joe Conti (R-Bucks, Montgomery) said.
