  • PA Honors Historic People, Places and Events
What do anti-slavery efforts, an illustrious labor leader, and a recovered sunken Soviet sub containing secret code books have in common with the inventor of electronic TV and the oldest continually operating oil refinery in the U.S.? All have been deemed worthy of a place in PA history with a state historical marker. Twenty-nine of Pennsylvania’s historic people, places and events are being recognized with markers this year, adding to the more than 2,000 already located around the state proudly proclaiming our heritage.   (04/07/06)
