Good Citizenship Awards - May/June 2005

Senator Joe Conti presented good citizenship awards to selected students graduating from elementary and middle schools in the 10th Senatorial District for demonstrated qualities of Good Citizenship through display of character, leadership, scholarship, and acceptance of responsibility.

Senior Citizen Expo – April 2004 and April 2005

Senator Joe Conti hosted several hundred senior citizens at St. Frances Cabrini School in Fairless Hill as a community service and a chance for them to become more informed consumers. 

Flood Assistance Town Meeting with CPA's – February 2, 2005

Town meeting hosted by Senator Conti and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants to assist constituents of the 10th Senatorial District with tax issues for damage experienced as a result of the floods caused by Hurricanes Ivan and Frances.

Town Meetings-July 19, 2001 – Present

Weekly meetings with different sections of my legislative district. Open forum for items of interest and concern for the residents of the 10th Senatorial District.

Bucks County Biotech 2000 Conference - November 16, 2000

Symposium held in Bucks County for approximately one hundred attendees from Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey biotech-related companies, county commissioners, county economic development office leaders, and state departmental secretaries involved in biotechnology to exchange ideas on how to make Pennsylvania the life sciences greenhouse for biotechnology.

Constituent Breakfasts - 1999 - 2001

Instituted novel bi-monthly breakfast meetings with the constituents of my district. Participated in approximately 30 of these informal meetings in order to personally listen to the concerns of the residents of the 10th Senatorial District.

Kids Fest - 2005

A fun and free way to gain valuable information on programs and benefits valuable to help families and children.

Good Government Seminars - Spring 2000 - Present

Held educational seminar for high school students from approximately 9 high schools in my Senatorial District in order to bring state government to them and encourage the students to become active and knowledgeable in the governance of our communities. Over 50 state officials participated as well as 115 students and teachers.

Local Government Grant Workshops - Spring 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005

Conducted instructional seminar for all municipal and police officials in my district, presenting the most up-to-date information on state grants available to their communities. Experts from six state agencies discussed the various grants and how to apply for them. Over 80 municipal officials attended each workshop and participated in a question and answer session. A reference manual containing contact information and a comprehensive listing of the grant programs was given to each official.
